:: Tammy Dial Day

By: Johnny Lyles (lonewolfmediaentertainment at yahoo dot com)
Tuesday, March 13, 2007 7:27:00 AM

Sunday, March 25th, Into the Mystic is hostinga benefit for their friend Tammy Dial, sponsored by Lonewolf Media Entertainment, and MCed by Darrin of "Indy In-Tune"

Tammy has terminal metastatic melanoma, and this past September was given about 8 months to live. In the cancer world, 8 months can mean 6 months or two years. Who knows? This benefit is to help raise money for her final expenses and relief for her family. You will all see Tammy is a wonderful lady and will fall in love with her as we all have.

There is no cover charge. Funds will be raised via raffles and a fifty/fifty. Donations are glady accepted as well. On the bill are four bands, two comedians, plus the inevitable plethora of surprise guests all of whom have generously donated their time and talents.

As an added bonus and last-minute beer-inspired brainstorm, there will be an open jam session, no doubt hosting some of Indy's finest local talent (as well as introducing many of them to eachother for the first time). All are invited to participate in what we hope will be a memorable, if not historic musical event.

Musicians: If you wish to add your talents to this grand experiment, we'd like you there before 2PM to stage your equipment and get your name on the sign-up sheet. The load in is perfect, around back, but very bad in the middle of someone else's show. You of course don't have to be there all day if you somehow find something more vital to do, but we promise a good time for all. We will be on site at 11AM to set up the room and PA. A community drum set, bass rig, and keyboards will be available. Guitarists and bassists will need bring their own instruments. It would also be best to bring personal amps and mics, just in case you need them.

The address is

Mickey's Irish Pub
13644 N. Meridian
Carmel, IN 46032
(Caddie corner from St. Vincent's Hospital at the red light)

The following schedule is tentative, and (like the Oscars) may be bumped around by 10-15 minutes depending on speakers, guests, and unforseen dramas. However, it currently looks like this...

2:00 - 2:10Opening Announcements
2:10 - 2:40Tim Spainhower & Mark Miller
2:45 - 3:30Lady Di & The Kings Of Denial
3:45 - 4:05Otto the Comic
4:15 - 5:00Tish Lyndsey
5:15 - 6:00Nervous Vurn & Munchie
6:00 - 6:30~Raffle Drawings~
6:30 - 7:30Marlin James
7:45 - 8:45Indy All Star Jam
9:00 - 12:00Into The Mystic*

* As if all that wasn't enough, Darrin "Indy In-Tune" Snider will also be making his first appearance -- without benefit of rehearsal no less -- as keyboardist for "Into the Mystic" (provided his anti-anxiety medicine kicksin and he gets over that fear of doing anything without benefit of two-days' editing). This represents the first time he's played a full set with other musicians in over a decade, and his first time playing in front of strangers in almost TWO decades. (Yeah, NOW how much would you pay...)

Please help spread the word to anyone you think may be interested in catching this show. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us, and again to everyone...thank you.

Solicitations and Submissions

Solicitations for blog posts can be made by sending and email to "blog -at- indyintune -dot- com" and should follow these guidelines:

  • Local (Indianapolis-based) acts always have priority.
  • Visisting acts playing a bill with one or more local acts are also considered.
  • We generally don't like to repeat content found on other sites. If your request already has a lot of coverage on other sites, it will be considered low-priority unless you can give us an exclusive angle.
  • For obvious reasons, we don't do solicited album reviews, though we do appreciate you letting us know when you have a new release. Consider coming in and talking about the album yourself live on the air or a podcast.
  • All of our staff writers are unpaid enthusiasts. All requests for blog posts are entirely at their descretion.
  • As such, they generally need a lot of lead-time to put something out -- we're talking weeks of lead time, not hours.
  • That said, individual authors have full authority to ignore the following guidelines and write whatever they want ... if you can convince them to.
  • In addition, feel free to write your own post and submit it for posting as a "guest blogger." Those almost always get accepted.
  • Finally, regional or national acts submitting without meeting the above guidelines are generally ignored. We're not trying to be dicks, but if you send us a generic form-letter with your press release, and it doesn't even remotely concern a local artist or event, then you're not part of our core focus.
